Camera Generations

Bulgaria's coverage consists of Generation 4, Generation 3, and new Badcam coverage. Additionally, Bulgaria has limited trekker & tripod coverage. It's tripod coverage is limited to Sofia and Haskovo Oblast

Generation 4 and Generation 3 can be found everywhere in Bulgaria.

This is a map of trekker coverage in Bulgaria. The trekker coverage on the border with Romania is boat coverage on the Danube River.

Generation 4

Generation 4 coverage has 7 car types: Blue Car No Antenna, Blue Car Antenna, Black Car No Antenna, Black Car Antenna, Red Car No Antenna, Red Car Antenna, and No Car. No car will usually never have an antenna. Blue Car No Antenna can be found in all of Bulgaria, meaning on it's own, it is not useful for regionguessing. Blue Car Antenna is similar in that it is found in every Oblast, however, there are some regional trends you can get out of Blue Car Antenna.

Starting with probably the most useful car type: Red Car Antenna. This car is red and has an antenna, it can sometimes appear with no antenna but the distribution is about the same. (mindblowing)

This is everywhere you can find No car in Bulgaria. This means there is no visible car color. No car will never have an antenna when the location is in Bulgaria.

This map shows you the oblasts where No Car is found. The darker shade of gray represents the distribution of No Car.

This is where you can find a Black Car with an Antenna. (You can sometimes find a Black Car without an antenna but it is the same distribution.)

This is where coverage with a Blue Car with an Antenna can be found.

Finally, the least useful generation 4 car type on it's own. Blue Car No Antenna. It's basically found everywhere.

Sunsets and Sunrises

Sunsets and Sunrises can be found all over Bulgaria in Generation 4 coverage.

  • Here's a map of where Sunsets can be found.
  • And here is a map of where Sunrises can be found.

Generation 3

Generation 3 has 5 types of antennas, A, CB, Blurred CB, Flag, and High Flag. It is important to note that these metas will not work if the coverage is Generation 4 coverage.

Gen 3 CB antenna is a fairly useful antenna, it's highest ridge is on the left, it can be found in a few oblasts.

Gen 3 Blurred CB antenna is not as useful, it can be found in most of the oblasts.

Gen 3 Flag antenna aka Tape antenna, the antenna has a piece of tape at the top of it. It can be found in a majority of the oblasts.

Additionally a longer flag antenna (High flag antenna) can be found in a few places.

The A type Antenna's highest ridge is on the right, it's mostly found in Pleven but can be found elsewhere.

Dead Pixels

Dead Pixels are areas of the google panorama where the camera had a glitch, resulting in a minute portion of the panorama having discoloration. Whilst this is usually unnoticed, if you look for these, they can greatly narrow down the regions you can be in. For a more detailed map, you can view the JSON of this guide here

This is an overview of all dead pixels that are discussed in this guide.

This dead pixel can be found in the top left area of the sky. It is blue in color and is found in parts of northeastern Bulgaria as displayed on the map.

To find this pixel, face your car foward

Then zoom in to the top left of your screen to find the pixel. Wowie zowie.

This black dead pixel can be found in the top left area of the sky.

This image has the car panned forward.

Then you can see the pixel.

This pixel is white and color and can be found by aligning yourself with the back of the car and looking in the sky roughly 45 degrees to the right.

This image has the car panned backwards. You can immediately see the pixel even without zooming in. Sometimes the pixel can look like the moon, so I'd recommend zooming into it to confirm it is a pixel.

The gray area on the pixel distribution map denotes the version of the pixel that is more defined and more square-like. This can be seen in the image.

This is the distribution of the blue that can be found on your left on the floor. This pixel can sometimes appear white because of the lighting.

First, I turn the car to the left

At this point, the car is panned completely to the left.

Then we can see the pixel.

This pixel is blue and appears in the top right portion of the sky. Similarly to the last pixel, this pixel can sometimes appear white because of the lighting.

You can see the pixel here, and you may notice it looks white, this is because of the lighting in the image.

This pixel can be seen after panning the car to the back and then looking below the horizon a little bit to the left. This pixel can appear blue or white.

We are panned to the back of the car

Truly crazy we can see the pixel

This pixel is black and can be viewed by panning to the back of the panorama and then looking in the top right in the sky.

The pixel is visible.

In this variation of the same pixel, there are also one or two smudges next to it. This is found in Burgas and Varna Oblasts, and rarely other oblasts.

This is a more detailed distribution map of the pixel when the smudges are there too.

Next up, the blue right pixel.

After panning to the left, it is visible in the center of the location.

This is the usual top right black pixel location. However, the pixel is noticeably smaller.

This pixel is even smaller. It doesn't really count as a pixel in my opinion.

First, you have to pan to the sky above.

This is the distribution of the black pixel that can be found on the top right.

This is the distribution of the orange pixel that can be found on the top right of the panorama.

This is the distribution of the black pixel that can be found after panning to the back and looking at the top left section of the screen.

This is the distribution of the back bottom left orange pixel.

Start by panning to the back of the panorama

Then look at the bottom left part of the screen.

This is the distribution of the back black pixel. This pixel is found directly behind the car on the ground.

Start by panning to the back of the panorama.

Then look at the ground, you will see the pixel. It can vary in its location, however it will always be on the ground somewhere behind you.

This is the distribution of the left top pixel. It can be found by panning to the left completely and looking at the top of the sky.

This is the distribution of the top pixel. It is found directly above the panorama.

This is the distribution of back left white pixel. It can be found by panning to the back of the location and looking at the top left portion of the screen. The pixel is white in color (crazy i know)

This is the distribution of the left green pixel. This can be found by panning to the left and looking straight ahead.

This is what the pixel looks like when zoomed in.

This is the distribution of right top pixel. It can be found by panning to the right of the panorama and looking into the sky. It is inconsistent in color. But generally, the north color is blue.

This is the distribution of back left orange pixel.

You can see the pixel. It is roughly a 45 degree angle from the center of the car.

Useful Clusters

In this section, I show you the most useful copyright + car clusters I found. If you want to look for seasonal clusters or clusters using month. I'd highly recommend checking out Gruen's Bulgaria JSON

Black Car without an Antenna with 2023 copyright can be found here.

Blue Car Antenna c23. This tends to be northwest Bulgaria.
